New Appointments

TSSF Chapter has approved, with great pleasure and without a single dissenting voice, the following two appointments.

Verena Tschudin has accepted the post of Editor of Little Portion, to succeed Nancy Adams with immediate effect. Verena is just coming to the end of her term of office as Area Formation Guardian for London West and she brings to the post experience as a journal editor (and founder of a journal) in her academic career.

Jennifer Robinson has accepted the role of Chapter Minutes Secretary, to succeed Sue Height. She will take up the appointment at the start of the October 2012 Chapter. Jennifer was previously the Link Tertiary for Central and South England.

TSSF Retreat Notice amendment

In TON 46 we listed Brother Nathanael SSF as leader of a retreat in September. We apologize for any distress this may have caused, since Nathanael died on 31st May. See an announcement on the Franciscan News web page at http://www.franciscans.org.uk/Page38.htm

The retreat is going ahead with Brother Nicholas Alan SSF as leader. On 18th July there were “only a few places left”.

New TSSF Officers

The result for the new Minister Provincial of the European Province is that Averil Swanton was elected by a clear margin.

604 valid votes were received by the close of the election, 418 by post and 186 by e-mail. This is a vote by 33% of Professed Tertiaries (about two-thirds of whom can use e-mail though less than a third chose to do so).

Janet (Jan) Davies was elected as Link Tertiary for the East Midlands and Yorkshire Cluster of Areas by a clear majority. The voting figures were similar (64 votes cast out of a possible 210, 41 by post and 23 by e-mail).

Roger Healey was elected unopposed to be the new Link Tertiary for the Central Southern England Cluster.

All three of these become members of Chapter and Trustees of the Order on 16th June 2012.

In addition, Mollie Kingham has been appointed by Chapter to succeed Fran Childs as Membership Secretary.

Individually Guided Retreats at Freeland

The Community of St Clare, Freeland, are offering the opportunity for individually guided retreats, at the Old Parsonage (Guest House of the Community of St Clare, Freeland). Dates are available between Monday 16th July to 23rd/24th July. 

The director will be Rev'd Carolin Clapperton TSSF (Retreats may last the whole week, or for a shorter period of time if desired.)
